Overview

The SSRS/PowerBI Reporting Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and Power BI. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, ensuring data accuracy, and delivering insightful visualizations that support decision-making processes. The developer will also optimize report performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide training to end-users on report usage.

 

Hiring range:$40 - $45/hr

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Designs, develops, and maintains SSRS/Power BI reports to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to gather and analyze reporting requirements.
  • Assists in creating complex queries, stored procedures, and functions in SQL to extract and transform data.
  • Ensures the accuracy, reliability, and performance of all reports and dashboards.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to existing reports and data sources.
  • Optimizes report performance and help improve query efficiency.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for reporting processes, including data sources, query logic, and report usage.
  • Stays updated with new features and best practices in SSRS and related reporting tools.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent experience.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 to 5 years experience in SSRS, Power BI Reporting, and SQL
  • Proven experience in designing and developing SSRS/Power BI reports.
  • Experience with relational databases and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience with data visualization and creating user-friendly reports.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and report usability.
  • Strong understanding of SSRS/Power BI architecture and components.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence frameworks and best practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server, including T-SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with reporting in cloud-based environments, such as Azure SQL.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and tools (e.g., SSIS) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with other reporting tools is a plus.
