Our FULL TIME Behavior Technician role provides CLINIC and HOME  BASED therapy sessions to clients that exhibit severe behaviors (clients also receive ABA services in community settings as appropriate).

Behavior Technician 3 (BT3): Starting pay $28/hr

Responsibilities

 

What we are looking for:

  • People with a passion for providing therapy services
  • Previous experience around people with special needs and an interest in behavioral health
  • Proof of immunization records and TB.  Must be fully vaccinated against Covid including a booster, if eligible
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • The position requires lifting, carrying, and loading/unloading toys and materials for home visits. Also frequent walking, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting in order to observe, assess, and interact with participants

Work hours: Monday thru Friday. We have morning and afternoon shifts, part time or full time available. 

 

 

Specific duties :

  • Supporting participants diagnosed with autism and severely challenging behavior of all ages. Challenging behavior may include aggression, property destruction, self-injurious behavior, feeding issues, among others.
  • Providing services at a 2:1 staff to participant ratio in the clinic, at the participant's home, and/or the community. Most participants start services at the Center, and then treatment is generalized to the home or community after it is determined to be appropriate by the family and team.
  • Collecting data about participant behavior through direct observation. Appointments may be divided into several treatment intervals in which specific interventions and data collection procedures are used to target the participant's individualized needs.
  • Assists BCBAs as directed with behavior assessments and skill acquisition plans. May assist with functional analyses, preference assessments, and development of instructional materials.
  • Teaching participants the socially appropriate behavior identified in treatment plans. Adheres to the treatment plan to maintain high treatment integrity.
  • Attending weekly team meetings for each participant on their caseload. Meetings are approximately 45 to 60 minutes in duration. Expected to provide input based on the data that are collected within a behavior analytic framework.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

  • BT 3: Masters Degree, OR Enrollment in a Master's degree program in Applied Behavior Analysis or closely related field, or in a coursework series that meets the educational requirements for the BCBA examination, is preferred, plus 2 years experience with ABA therapy.
  • Must have Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.

Experience: 

  • At least two years of ABA experience with individuals with autism spectrum disorders and/or other related developmental disabilities is preferred. Experience with high intensity challenging behaviors is preferred. 
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with high intensity challenging behaviors preferred.
