Overview

The Workday HRIS Technical Analyst is responsible for the configuration, support, and optimization of the Workday HCM (Human Capital Management) platform. This individual works closely with HR, IT, and other business units to ensure the system aligns with organizational needs and maximizes its functionality. This analyst will manage system upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data accuracy and compliance.

 

Hiring Range: $74k - $110k / Year 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Workday System Configuration:
    • Configure and maintain various Workday modules, such as HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, etc.
    • Implement new Workday functionalities and updates based on business requirements.
    • Collaborate with HR and IT teams to develop solutions that align with business processes.
  2. Support & Troubleshooting:
    • Provide ongoing system support and resolve technical issues as they arise.
    • Troubleshoot user issues and system bugs, escalating as necessary to Workday Support.
    • Monitor system performance and resolve technical problems to maintain system stability.
  3. Data Integrity & Reporting:
    • Ensure data integrity through regular audits and system checks.
    • Manage system security, user access, and roles.
    • Generate and modify custom reports, dashboards, and data analytics based on user needs.
  4. Upgrades & System Enhancements:
    • Manage Workday system updates, including planning, testing, and implementation of new features.
    • Research and recommend enhancements to the Workday system to increase efficiency and support business goals.
    • Collaborate with the business to implement new features and modules, ensuring proper testing and communication.
  5. Documentation & Training:
    • Document system processes, configuration changes, and user guides.
    • Develop and provide end-user training on system functionality and best practices.
    • Stay current on Workday releases, functionality, and best practices to continually improve system usage.
  6. Project Management:
    • Participate in HCM-related projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
    • Work with third-party vendors, consultants, and internal teams to execute HRIS projects.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Human Resources or related
    discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 4+ years in HR systems support; or a combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to
    effectively perform the core responsibilities of the position.

Preferred Skills:

  • Workday certifications (e.g., Workday HCM, Reporting, Security).
  • Experience in Workday implementations or upgrades.
  • Familiarity with integrations between Workday and other business systems.
  • Experience in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated understanding of HR and Payroll processes and terminology, report writing, query writing,
    data analysis, and HCM systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; proficient in HCM systems, processes and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present findings and translate data into an understandable
    document; must be able to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas.
  • Strong customer-service orientation; demonstrated ability to work well and collaborate with all levels of
    the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain flexibility while handling multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of discretion in handling confidential data and information.
  • Ability to remain highly focused with strong attention to detail; vigilant in data analysis to arrive at correct
    conclusions.
  • Strong critical thinking with the ability to review numbers, trends, and data and suggest changes based on
    the findings.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and
    Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
