Overview

The Compliance and Privacy Analyst conducts, analyzes, designs, implements, and administers the ongoing development of the Compliance and Privacy Program education, training, policies and procedures. Collects Compliance and Privacy data; performs report writing and analytics, conducts company Compliance and Privacy activities, implements Compliance efforts and regulatory compliance through monitoring regulatory changes. Contributes to general incident management. Develops, and coordinates departmental projects and initiatives.

 

This is a hybrid position which requires in-person meetings at our Irvine headquarters 2-3 times per month.

 

Hiring Range: $80K - $90K

Responsibilities

  • Leads and promotes learning in others by building relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Communicates relevant Compliance and Privacy information to associates and provides advice to drive projects forward; Provides risk mitigation feedback to others, including upward feedback to leadership; creates and executes plans to capitalize on strengths and help develop solutions to potential Compliance and Privacy risks.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders (employees) and external stakeholders (regulators and auditors). Applies established regulations and standards to Compliance efforts; designs, develops, and executes strategic Compliance initiatives; analyzes regulations and regulatory changes and their application to operations and documents Compliance activities.
  • Leads compliance reporting efforts by evaluating and summarizing compliance data, audits information, and potential risks and mitigation; identifies and reports key compliance drivers, liabilities, and performance indicators (for example, adherence to standards, incorporation of new regulations) to management and develops presentations to convey key findings to management and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with Compliance and Privacy leadership to conduct routine auditing and monitoring. Independently analyzes moderate to complex Compliance and Privacy incidents and leads investigations of Privacy breaches.
  • Contributes to the new associate training; also leads and provides remedial, Compliance and/or Privacy trainings. Maintains and updates training materials as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • JD is a plus
  • Healthcare Compliance certification is a plus
  • Certification In Privacy is a plus

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of relevant overall experience is required
  • 2-3 years of related Compliance, Privacy, and Healthcare Regulatory experience is required

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to Privacy and Information Security.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to recognize sensitive issues and practice discretion.

  • Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC and if required, a post-offer physical evaluation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation, per Easterseals of Southern California and/or program requirements.
