  • Overview

    Under general guidance, conducts audits and inspections of the organization's business processes to ensure risk mitigation and quality adherence in the areas of participant and associate health and safety. Conducts on-site audits to review quality, efficacy, and safety of diverse programs and makes recommendations for improvement. Collaborates with risk management leadership, service line leadership and other functional areas on strategic planning for process quality improvements.

    Responsibilities

    • Determines, negotiates and gains consensus for quality procedures, systems and standards to ensure the health and safety of program participants and associates. Monitors ongoing performance against set standards.
    • Conducts on-site audits to review quality, efficacy, and safety of programs. Investigates incidents affecting supported individuals when appropriate. Makes recommendations to improve the quality of service delivery across various programs.
    • Assists in the compliance with state and federal laws, agency policies, and contractual obligations. Acts as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality. 
    • Works with Service Line leaders to determine quality training needs and develops training materials. Provides initial and ongoing quality training to managers.
    • Develops strategies in partnership with leadership to reduce work related injuries and worker’s compensation claims.
    • Performs root cause analysis and generates statistical and other reports to leadership on a monthly and annual basis.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Services, Risk Management, Public Health or related field, and 5 to 7 years’ experience in risk management, quality improvement, safety and/or regulatory compliance, or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the job successfully.
    • At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of risk management.
    • Remains current on all Federal, State, County and local regulations including Cal/OSHA, Title 5, 17, and 22.
    • Ability to properly interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations; consistently demonstrate good judgement and decision making skills; and exercise discretion and confidentiality in all situations.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise a high level of discretion in handling sensitive situations.
    • Ability to remain focused and flexible, while shifting multiple priorities.
    • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communication skills with associates at all levels, both internal and external to the organization.
    • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
    • Ability to travel locally; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation, per Easterseals of Southern California and/or program requirements.
