  • Overview

    The Infant Toddler Education Manager will provide training and technical assistance to infant/toddler centers and family child care providers, and act as the liaison between ESSC (Child Development Centers) and child care partnership agencies outside agencies.

    Responsibilities

    • Committed to sustaining a high quality child care program that values partnerships between families and staff and outside agencies.  Ensure compliance by each partnership agency.
    • Respond promptly and appropriately to parent concerns, involving teachers, administrators, families or external support personnel as needed.
    • Work closely with all staff to oversee all aspects of classroom program planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of ESSC philosophy, developmentally appropriate practices, Accreditation and Environment Rating Scales, etc.  Show continual and proven improvement.
    • Maintain professional Growth and Development Plans for infant toddler teachers and coordinate with Infant Toddler Training Specialist on training plans.
    • Act as a member of the management team to ensure adherence to regs, health and safety, facilities, operations, human resources or other concerns.
    • Participate in all center wide events; actively engage parents to participate in all aspects of center life; conduct annual evaluations of the program that includes the opinions of families and staff.
    • Continually seeks ways to promote an early childhood program both bringing professionals to a variety of forums and being actively present in the external early childhood community.
    • Other assignments that may need the associates’ expertise, knowledge or ability.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education and possession of a valid Site Supervisor tor Permit or higher. Masters of Arts preferred.
    • Two years of supervisory experience required.
    • Successfully passed an Infant Toddler college class from a recognized university with a B grade or higher
    • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and other related computer software.
    • Experience teaching in a preschool or infant/toddler classroom setting.
    • Possession of current pediatric (infant/toddler) CPR, first aid certificate and Food Handler Certificate.
    • Knowledge of program standards and guidelines of the California Department of Education, Funding terms and Conditions (Title 5), Child Development Division, Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing (Title 22), ESSC and of Early Head Start Performance Standards (Title 5, 17 and 22)
    • Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups. Must relate well to children and their families and maintain positive affect.
    • Ability to exercise sound judgment, establish and meet timelines, plan, coordinate and implement school site programs.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift 40 Ability to reach, bend, stoop, squat.  Also possess fine manual dexterity, can push, pull talk/hear, with near and far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field of vision.
    • Ability to pass post-offer medical examination and test for tuberculosis.
    • Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance per Easter Seals Southern California and/or program requirements.
    • Ability to travel locally, maintains driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards, and has proper auto insurance and vehicle registration.
    • Ability to lift up to XXX pounds. Ability to stand, stoop and bend for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to pass post-offer medical examination and test for tuberculosis.
    • Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance per Easter Seals Southern California and/or program requirements.
    • Ability to travel locally with reliable transportation, maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards, and have proper auto insurance and vehicle registration
