Overview

The HR Communications Specialist Independent Contractor will work closely with the Internal Communications Director and members of the HR team to develop communications plans and strategies to support a large, decentralized organization to communicate HR information clearly, efficiently to all employees.

 

 You will support the development and execution of employee communications to a diverse workforce on topics including: Compensation, Benefits, Wellness, Recognition, Engagement, Labor Relations, and other HR-related initiatives and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Researching, writing and editing of HR communications on a variety topics.
  • Creation of communication plans and strategies as related to the dissemination of HR Communications to all employees.
  • Collaborate with HR and Marcom teams to create and execute timely, understandable HR communications to all employees.

  • Create messages for HR initiatives, topics, policies and procedures such as benefits open enrollment, compensation and merit programs.

  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with key internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing skills and the ability to distill complex information into easily understandable text and other deliverables for a mix of communication channels.
  • Solid background in employee communication strategies, plans and tactics, specifically supporting HR communications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or HR related field.

  • 3-5+ years of progressive internal communications experience, specifically supporting HR Communications.

  • Exceptional written, verbal and visual communication skills.

  • Ability to distill complex Human Resources information pertaining to benefits, compensation, labor rules, payroll, recognition, into easily understandable communications for employees.

  • Must be passionate about the employee experience.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite of programs, including OneDrive, SharePoint knowledge helpful.

  • Ability to work with all levels in the organization and handle sensitive topics with discretion.

  • Self-starter who takes initiative and completes projects on time.

  • Ability to work under pressure, short turnaround times.
