Overview

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

 

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA professional to join our team. This role will focus on ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of data across our data warehousing and business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in validating data processes, identifying discrepancies, and supporting the delivery of reliable, high-quality insights to stakeholders.

 

While experience with Microsoft Purview is a plus, it is not a requirement as we will train. The QA professional will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to establish and maintain strong data quality standards, implement testing protocols, and help drive data governance best practices.

 

Starting Hiring Range: $90k - $104k / yr. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.
  • Validate data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across various data sources and ETL processes.
  • Test business intelligence reports and dashboards to ensure they meet business requirements and performance standards.
  • Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks for data validation and report testing.
  • Monitoring and update of currently running process to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools. Work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate and support UAT activities, ensuring that end-users are satisfied with the data solutions and completed sign off.
  • Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or commensurate experience or equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-2 years of experience with DevOps practices and tools, along with project management using sprints, stories, and tasks.
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS.
  • 1-2 years of proven experience as a QA Analyst in data warehousing and business intelligence environments.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data validation and testing.
  • 1-2 years of experience with Microsoft BI tools such as Power BI (Apps & Report Server), SQL Server, and Azure Data Services.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and tools such Azure Data Factory, Fabric flows, PySpark Notebooks, SSIS Packages)
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
  • Ability to document end to end processes.
  • 1-2 years of experience with MS SharePoint & Teams to store, organize, and share documents & files.
