Overview

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:

 

Works with the Director of Digital Content and team members to edit engaging videos that highlight our services, programs, fundraising efforts, and key initiatives across Southern California, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. These videos are produced for use on social media, website, broadcast, and the intranet – with a focus on creativity and professional quality.

 

Starting Pay Range: $34/hr. - $41/hr. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Edits compelling story-driven video and photography projects for external social media platforms and
    internal communications.
  • Ensures all video content is on-brand and meets company standards for quality and style; Executes processes
    efficiently while maintaining established branded guidelines, ensuring all deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Works with Marketing Communications team to create content for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube
    and other platforms, including the organization’s website and intranet.
  • Organize and archive all footage, photography, and project files; Manages video assets and maintain an
    organized library of content.
  • Assist with post-production workflows for video and photography needs, including motion graphics, color
    correction, and sound.
  • Ensure that all video content meets legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Responsible for creating motion graphics and/or using motion graphic templates to content including visual
    elements and brand styling.
  • Assist with live-streaming, virtual recordings and troubleshooting, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in TV/Film, or equivalent work experience in video editing, or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience editing videos for social media platforms (YouTube, Facebook, Instagram,
    etc.) and websites.
  • 2+ years’ experience in Branded Content.
  • Must provide 5-7 samples of work (Must include branded samples and motion graphics).
  • Preferred work experience in a studio and/or agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Highly skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud apps: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition,
    Media Encoder and Microsoft Office applications. Must be comfortable in a Windows/PC-based
    environment.
  • Able to work with Adobe After Effects templates and create custom graphics.
  • Balance and grade color, and sound mixing within Adobe CC.
  • Experience and understand best practices: file formats, codecs, and their proper handling in a postproduction workflow, as well as keep up with software updates and new products available to increase workflow efficiency.
  • Audio editing and sound design knowledge; ability to perform basic audio clean-up, sweetening, initial rough
    sound design, and review mix. Familiarity with Adobe Audition.
  • Strong editing skills to cut story-driven content for social media and digital video platforms.
  • Attention to detail and an ability to take and implement direction, feedback, and delivery of assets.
  • Flexibility to adapt with changing timelines and deliverables.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Strong creative vision and the capacity to bring it to life.
  • Ability to work independently and under close direction.
  • Proactive thinker with the ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.
