Overview

OVERVIEW OF POSITION:


Participates in the analysis, design, implementation, administration, and delivery of compensation programs, practices, policies, and continuous improvement initiatives to support ESSC business strategy, goals, and objectives. Engages with field and centralized HR teams to provide market-based compensation analytics, support and guidance on compensation processes and programs to service lines across regions, in line with ESSC’s compensation philosophy. Creates, updates, and maintains job descriptions. Conducts ad-hoc market rating of positions, compensation analysis, and provides salary grade recommendations. Supports Talent Acquisition on open requisitions providing salary ranges, and making pay recommendations. Seeks fair and
equitable pay practices in order to retain, reward and recruit associates. Participates in annual compensation survey processes.

 

Starting Hiring Range: $74,250k - $90,750k / yr.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Works with department leaders to create, update, and maintain job descriptions. Conducts job analysis, to ascertain scope, responsibilities, and requirements; reviews existing jobs, auditing content for completeness and accuracy. Conducts analysis on exemption status determination. Evaluates jobs, conducts market pricing, and formulates recommendations of job title, salary grade, and provides tailored compensation advice for newly created or existing jobs. Ensures internal equity, external competitive positioning, and adherence to ESSC compensation policies and guidelines.
  • Responds to compensation inquiries from Talent Acquisition, field HR, and leadership, regarding salary recommendations, interpretation of policy, procedures and guidelines; and guidance on other compensation related topics.
  • Conducts adhoc analysis to support various compensation programs. Researches, evaluates and analyzes data, compensation matters and issues; drawing conclusions/insights, and developing recommendations.
  • Participates in the design, development, implementation, management, and enhancement of compensation programs and initiatives, including base pay, off-cycle pay, incentive, and merit.
  • Participates in the planning, and administration of merit, bonus, and equity processes in partnership with Compensation team colleagues. Supports the compensation team with ongoing projects, presentations, policies, procedures, training materials/education resources, etc.
  • Participates in various salary surveys annually with accurate information by posted deadlines. Serves as a contact for compensation survey groups and third party compensation software vendors.
  • Reviews iCIMS requisitions and approves compensation ranges in a timely manner. Conducts pay analysis for promotions and open jobs, makes recommendations the business can utilize to make sound decisions. Partners with the Talent Acquisition team to develop competitive offers based on market data, internal equity, and ESSC compensation philosophy, for new hires and existing associates.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or other quantitative field.
  • 4-7 years of experience in Compensation;
  • Or combined education and work experience to perform the job duties efficiently.
  • CCP Preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of federal, local, and state regulations related to employee compensation and classification; compensation principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  • Experience with base pay management, market pricing jobs, job leveling systems, salary survey participation, job evaluation, FLSA exempt status analysis, and analysis of large data sets.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, self-starter, highly organized, detail and results-oriented individual, capable of effective planning and priority setting for successful implementation; with a commitment to high-quality results.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills; collaboratively style, customer focus, consultative and relationship management skills.
  • Team player who is eager to learn, contribute, and drive forward initiatives –showing a strong work ethic and the ability to exercise at all times discretion and confidentiality in handling data and information.
  • Proficient in the usage of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint; experience with compensation management software, and managing data within an HRIS system.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and data presentation skills. With an eye for detail and recognizing trends, and aptitude for translating data or complex findings into conclusions, sound recommendations and solutions.
  • Ability to cultivate strong cross-functional relationships and effectively communicate technical concepts to functional business partners. Ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders, departments, and outside vendors. Confident working with individuals at different levels of the organization.
  • High level of independent thinking, problem solving, and analysis; with the ability to carry out responsibilities under general supervision.
  • Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
