Overview

Responsible for the graphic design of marketing communication creative for the organization. Works closely with the Art Director on regular production and design projects. Plays an important role in supporting and elevating the Easterseals brand across all platforms. Supports design needs for robust associates communications, social media, organization websites, as well as the creation of marketing materials.

 

Hiring Range: $74k - $82k / Yr. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Create and design a wide range of digital and print graphic assets that meet communication goals.
  • Work independently and cooperatively on projects with marketing team. Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with marketing team on materials for print and digital collateral.
  • Collaborate with Art Director to develop new approaches for creating more-expressive designs.
  • Supports internal communications design needs for intranet, associates campaigns and presentations.
  • Supports digital marketing to meet design requirements for social media platforms, websites, and other materials as assigned.
  • Testing graphics across various media.
  • Must master brand style guide and appropriately incorporate standards into all design projects.
  • May own projects from conception through final execution. Executes work in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Ability to design and prep projects for professional printing, ensuring all specs are correct.
  • Ability to design digital assets utilizing best practices and can design for a digital first experience.
  • Production art and design tasks encompass various activities, including image and photo manipulation (such as retouching, color correction, and masking) and vector tracing or illustration. Additionally, production design for both print and digital media involves creating designs in batches tailored for multiple
    platforms and specifications for web and print formats.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Degree with a specialization in Graphic Design, or successful completion of a Community College Graphic Design Program or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ professional experience in graphic design with demonstrated experience in creating a wide variety of graphics.
  • Strong design portfolio required and previous experience in desktop publishing/publication design is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Marketing Communications is a small-team in a fast-paced environment with very high standards. The ideal candidate should be able to deliver polished, creative work, often on tight deadlines or short turnaround times.
  • Juggle multiple projects at once and shift priorities.
  • Well-versed in the fundamentals of design, typography, and color theory.
  • Strong and broad working knowledge of graphic design technology.
  • Advanced knowledge of print design and printing processes. Designer should be well versed with creating print assets of all types (flyers, postcards, brochures, mailers, signage, magazine layouts, ad collateral, et al).
  • Well-developed presentation and communication skills and demonstrated ability to apply the principles of
    graphic design to support and enhance organization initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability in communication, teamwork, initiative/self-management and accountability, and flexibility/adaptability.
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback that inspires creative output and exceeds expectations. Excellent communications skills, including the ability to convey creative concepts and rationale.
  • Ability to take complex concepts and distill them into easily understandable graphics, infographics or other imagery.
  • Working knowledge of Digital Asset Managers, Bynder, a plus.
  • Familiarity with Prezi and/or MailChimp a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability in computerized design and advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign) and Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on PowerPoint. Must be comfortable in a Windows/PC based environment.
  • Secondary skill sets such as illustration, animation, and/or website development are helpful.
  • Solid understanding of typography and print-based-media.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
  • Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC.
